The first coral laboratory at Playa Bavaro to study the resilience of this marine species to climate change.
The project has 3 main goals:
The first is to maintain the biodiversity of local coral reefs to help protect them from discoloration, disease and hurricanes.
The second is to become a cutting-edge scientific institution in which international researchers will work to recreate a controlled ocean environment of the future.
The third goal is to share the beauty of coral reefs with the world. This laboratory will allow our guests, employees and the global community as a whole to understand how important coral reefs located in popular holiday destinations are.
